Dog and animal attacks represent some of the most devastating personal injuries anyone can suffer. Statistics show that every year the number of persons injured from a bite or knockdown from an aggressive dog increases. Unfortunately, the majority of these victims are children. Dog attacks can be life-altering events that frequently cause nerve damage, permanent scars and psychological trauma. You need to call me if you or a family member have suffered such an injury so we can promptly investigate the incident to determine if there was a violation of the Dog Law or if there was negligence or recklessness on the part of the dog owner(s). In Pennsylvania, a dog does not get “one free bite” (regardless of what others say) before the dog owner will be held responsible for your injuries. In all cases, a dog owner is liable if the dog is unleashed and not under the control of the dog owner.
