James Cunilio
James Cunilio Biography
Since Cunilio & Cunilio opened in 1975 we have represented thousands of satisfied clients in county, state and federal courts throughout southeastern Pennsylvania in a wide category of cases. Our goal has always been to provide the best possible services for a reasonable fee. We do this in a professional and courteous manner, remembering that the goal of the legal profession has always been to provide competent and fair service.
My father Victor Cunilio was an attorney who served as “of counsel” until his death in 2000 and he was my mentor. I graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 1971 and from Villanova University Law School in 1975. I started practicing law with several law school friends and gained courtroom experience trying criminal cases for a county public defender office as soon as I passed the bar exam in 1975.
In the almost 50 years since I started practicing law, I have developed expertise in a wide variety of cases. In addition to criminal law, in my early years I practiced matrimonial law, personal injury law, landlord and tenant matters, wills and estates, residential real estate transactions and the formation and representation of small business. Over the years, I became proficient in commercial litigation, driver licensing matters, appeals, will contests, business acquisitions and labor and consumer law. I now represent clients in civil and criminal litigation matters, from the most basic to the most complicated, in most state and federal courts in southeastern Pennsylvania.
